90 Days, 90 Joys: Days 65-73 A.K.A. The Best Week Ever!

Sorry I’ve been out of the loop and not writing. It was a BIG week and one where everyday was so exciting that I fell asleep by 8:30 p.m. I swear I have the energy level of a Cocker Spaniel—chasing my tail with gusto or asleep with my tongue hanging out.
Day 65: A producer at a major studio read my screenplay … and loved it.
Day 66: My husband landed his dream job, which included a good salary and benefits. We drank champagne and ate microwave pizza at home to celebrate. A toast to better days to come!
Day 67: I sat down and mapped out our itinerary for Costa Rica, reading about magical things like cloud forests and thermal baths at the feet of volcanoes.
Day 68: The price of my grandpa’s cabin dropped by $10,000. I still don’t think I can buy it, but it’s good (for me) that it’s going down in price while me and my husband’s finances start shaping up a little.
Day 69: I stayed late at work to help out another team that needed it. They were really grateful and it made it feel more like a gift than a chore.
Day 70: I woke up in the morning, made coffee, and read a book. I’ve made an odd choice for my fall reading list—Ayn Rand’s The Fountainhead. And you know what? I’m captivated. I haven’t fallen for a book in quite awhile so it’s exciting to be hooked again.
Day 71: I talked to The Fisherman’s Wife about my best week ever while walking around my house in my new pair of cute red wedges from DSW. (My version of ruby slippers! And only $25 if you’re also thinking you need a pair.)
Day 72: My writer’s group. They’re great. We’ve all been so busy writing for classes that we haven’t had time to workshop pieces for our group. So we met at my house for a potluck dinner instead and when they left I felt like the luckiest girl in the world to know people like them and get to have them over for dinner so easily without a lot of fuss. Literally some Trader Joe’s soup and good company can feel as good as gold.
Day 73: I confirmed a lunch date with the producer who loved my screenplay. Fingers crossed.
